The North Carolina Industrial Commission has released its 2026 Annual Report. The report provides an overview of the Commission’s work during Fiscal Year 2025–26, including information about the administration and adjudication of claims, mediation and dispute resolution, compliance and enforcement efforts, and services provided. This information and data highlight the breadth of the Commission’s responsibilities and reflect the work performed each year by Commission employees in service to the people of North Carolina.

Chairman Tyler Younts is pleased to announce the reappointment of Tiffany Mack Smith as a Deputy Commissioner. Smith will continue to serve in the Industrial Commission’s Charlotte office.Smith began her first term as a Deputy Commissioner in November 2020. Before joining the Commission, she practiced with Wallace & Graham, P.A., in Salisbury, North Carolina, and Ferguson Chambers & Sumter, P.A., in Charlotte, North Carolina. In private practice, she focused primarily on workers’ compensation, Social Security disability, and civil litigation.
Attorney File Access Service is Now Live!The Industrial Commission's Attorney File Access Service (AFAS) is now live. Attorneys can now securely access Commission case files online, providing a more convenient way to obtain case information and documents without separately requesting copies of each individual file.
Beginning Monday, September 21, 2026, attorneys will have secure, online access to Commission files through the Attorney File Access Service (AFAS). This service will allow more convenient access to case information and documents without the need to separately request copies of Commission case files. Each firm's designated Access Manager(s) will control which staff members have access to each attorney's files. Get Ready for Launch

Commissioner of Labor Luke Farley has designated Commissioner Tyler Younts to serve as the Chairman of the Industrial Commission effective August 6, 2026.
The General Assembly has appointed Tyler Younts to serve as a Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Younts’ term began on June 30, 2026, and runs for a period of six years.

Speaker of the House Destin Hall has recommended Tyler Younts for appointment by the North Carolina General Assembly to a six-year term as a Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission. The recommendation is subject to a vote by the General Assembly.
