Wes Saunders

Wes Saunders was appointed to serve as a Deputy Commissioner on May 17, 2021. 

Prior to joining the Commission, Saunders was an Assistant Attorney General at the North Carolina Department of Justice where he represented State agencies in workers’ compensation cases and represented the State in criminal and civil cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court.

Saunders earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from Campbell University School of Law.
